About the office
An officer of the Daviess Circuit Court, the Master Commissioner conducts court-ordered sales of real estate and assists the Court with lien enforcement and related litigation.
Sales location
Sales are held the third Monday of each month at promptly 10:00 a.m. (except January, which is the fourth Monday). Sales are held in the Fiscal Court Room on the second floor of the Daviess County Courthouse, 212 St. Ann Street, Owensboro, Kentucky.
Master Commissioner's office
The office is located in the Morton Holbrook Judicial Center, 100 East Second Street, Owensboro, Kentucky. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Telephone 270-684-3595 · Fax 270-685-2841.
Meet the Master Commissioner
Appointed by the Daviess Circuit Court, the Master Commissioner is a neutral officer of the Court who conducts judicial sales of real estate and assists the Court with lien enforcement and related litigation in Daviess County.
The Master Commissioner is an unbiased party to these legal actions and cannot provide legal advice. We recommend that bidders, owners and lien holders consult a qualified real estate attorney.
What the office does
The Daviess County Master Commissioner’s Office assists the courts with processing lien enforcement and litigation in the court system of Daviess County. When the Circuit Court orders a property sold, the office schedules the sale, publishes the required notice, conducts the public auction, prepares the purchaser’s bond and reports the sale to the Court for confirmation.
The office does not have the authority to stop, delay or cancel a sale except on order of the Court or at the request of the attorney who filed the foreclosure, and cannot give legal advice to bidders, owners or lien holders.
